No, our vehicles cannot be taken outside of Viti Levu or transported by barge or ferry. Aries Rental vehicles are not covered by marine insurance, so they must remain on the island of hire. If you’re planning to travel to another island, we’re happy to recommend a separate rental provider at your destination for a smooth travel experience.
A short grace period of up to 45 minutes maybe allowed, but late returns beyond that will incur an additional day’s charge. If you expect a delay, please contact our team in advance to discuss return time, location and resultant charges.
As part of our rental agreement, we apply a daily insurance charge of FJ$20, which is designed to provide coverage for the hire car in case of an accident, damage or loss. This charge is separate from the hire rate and is necessary to ensure the vehicle is protected during your rental period. This charge helps cover the cost of repairs or replacement of the vehicle, and ensures that the vehicle remains protected during the rental period.
However, in the event of an incident, there is an excess charge of FJ$4,000, plus 12.5% VAT, which is payable directly to Aries Rental Cars Pte Ltd. This excess charge is the amount that must be paid to our insurance provider when lodging a claim for any damage, loss, or accident involving the vehicle. Please note that we don’t have zero excess or comprehensive cover packages.
In the event of a breakdown or accident, contact our customer support immediately using the number in your rental agreement. We’ll arrange help or a replacement vehicle as quickly as possible. For accidents, please also report the incident to local police.
